What Is College Transition Coaching?
College Transition Coaching is a structured service designed to help students develop the academic, social, and life management skills needed for a smooth and successful transition to college life. It goes beyond academics to support social adjustment, emotional well-being, executive functioning, and independent living.
Coaching begins with an intake to identify strengths, challenges, and priorities. Together, we build a personalized plan for the semester, followed by regular sessions focused on practicing skills, troubleshooting obstacles, and adjusting routines. Coaching is not psychotherapy; however, The Banyan Tree offers comprehensive counseling services as well. If deeper therapeutic support is needed, we can provide a seamless transition to counseling within our practice so students receive the right level of care.
