Hypnotherapy is a state of deep relaxation, combined with focused concentration that promotes change quickly and easily. Hypnosis is a safe, natural state of relaxation during which time a therapist will guide the subconsciousness mind. Though deeply relaxed, your subconscious mind is actually more alert, aware and focused in hypnosis than during normal waking consciousness.
The subconscious mind governs “automatic” behaviors based on past experiences or learned responses, as well as retaining memories and belief systems. "Talking to" the subconscious is a great way release patterns no longer working for you and hypnosis is the best way to tap into these patterns. There is nothing to be afraid of — your subconsciousness mind always wants what is best for you. The hypnotherapist is your guide to help heal yourself based on the goals you have set with your therapist.
How will I feel under hypnosis?
Most clients say that hypnosis is very relaxing; that it feels like the stage right before sleep when you are very relaxed yet still aware of your what is going on around you.
Will I remember what happens while under hypnosis?
Yes, you are always aware and will remember what transpires during hypnosis. You are always in control — your therapist is simply your guide.
What if I can't be hypnotized?
Most people are able to be hypnotized. Those with mental disabilities or those that have a very hard time concentrating may take more time to hypnotize. If you have the desire or are highly motivated to change or get help, you will be more successfully hypnotized.
